'Just Desserts' draws a crowd; Carliles win drawing for artwork

About 75 contributors to the Marshall Regional Arts Council's 2005 membership drive gathered for the third annual "Just Desserts" gathering Sept. 27 at The Design Center in downtown Marshall to receive appreciation for their support of the organization and enjoy lavish desserts made by local culinary artists and restaurateurs. Steve and Penny Carlile won the drawing for an award-winning artwork. For every $35 a person contributed to the arts council, he or she received an opportunity to win one of seven pieces of art by area artists.
Pam Brock, Harrison County's elections administrator, did the honors of reaching into the bin of contributor tickets and selecting the winning name.
