Trinity Tank Car Inc. plans to expand for the second time this year, including hiring 300 more workers, expanding buildings and adding equipment at some local plants including its facility in western Harrison County.
The Longview Economic Development Corp. Board of Directors on Monday agreed to give Trinity up to $625,000 for the expansion over five years, based on an investment of at least $7 million and the creation of up to 300 jobs. The tank car manufacturer must create at least 200 jobs to receive the incentive, which would be prorated based on the number of jobs created.
"We very much appreciate the big investment your company's making," board President Les Mendicello told Steve Randall, vice president of tank car operations for Trinity, during Monday's meeting.
It's the second time this year LEDCO has awarded a grant to Trinity.
