Opinion: Industrial development at Caddo Lake -- by W. Lee Guice, Ph.D., P.E.
On 31 January, Judge McWhorter said that he feels the Longhorn site would make a good industrial site. This is in direct contrast to the opinion of Lee Guice, Ph.D., P.E. Please take the time to read Dr. Guice’s opinion piece.

Dr. Guice has spent many hours on the Longhorn site. How often has Judge McWhorter visited the site and for how long?

Dr. Guice's opinion is based on an exhaustive set of engineering data. On what does Judge McWhorter base his opinion? And now for Dr. Guice’s opinion:

Dear All:

I have studiously avoided entering into this discussion up till now.

I own Guice Engineering Sciences. We are the company that has done the engineering design on most of the recent projects in Marshall Business Park. The list includes Black and Decker, Assman, and the new Weatherford plant currently being built. We know industrial site development.

We also do oil and gas drilling equipment design. I personally am involved in and own oil and gas production properties.

We are not "tree huggers". We are hard headed businessmen. We support the USA best by keeping our jobs at home and developing our own energy sources.

We also did all of the environmental mapping at the (former) Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant. We have extremely detailed maps showing exactly how much, what type, and the subsurface depths where applicable, of all known pollutants as well as the sources. We know the flow patterns in the ground; where the VOC's, heavy metals, perchlorates and so forth are and where they are going.
