Volunteers Need at TEX DOT Rest Stop in Waskom

This morning buses began to stop at Rest Stop in Waskom. These buses contained passengers that were very different from the typical tourist. These were people that had gone to the New Orleans Superdome to get out of HURRICANE KATRINA or to escape the rising water. It was not unusual to see people without shoes and in very soiled cloths. Fridays buses were just the start. Ms. Wilson, the DOT representative said that buses are expected to arrive for the next two or three days around the clock. Tex DOT staff of 6 needs your help. She estimates that 30 volunteers are need around the clock. Supplies are also need Water and food are preferred.
