The Caddo Lake Institute is warning computer users who are interested in obtaining information about the organization or Caddo Lake issues to avoid going to a website named “Caddolakeinstitute.org.” Doing so will cause their computers to be infected with spyware and other malicious programs.

The only official website for CLI is “caddodefense.org” which reports all conservation activities of CLI and Caddo Lake Coalition entities. CLI also maintains “clidata.org,” an archive of technical material for expert use.

The obsolete “caddolakeinstitute.org” website was highjacked by a person or persons unknown and is not controlled or sanctioned by the CLI. The true identity of the highjackers is concealed by a complex and sophisticated series of foreign database servers whose only purpose is to disguise where and by whom a malicious web site is actually controlled.
