Sizzling Seniors A Component of Wileys Learn and Serve Program

Marshall, TX Several Marshall area senior citizens are taking advantage of a free wellness program offered through Wiley College via the Learn and Serve Program grant awarded by the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation. The grant supports a campus-based Seniors Wellness Connection program in which area senior citizens gather for a weekly exercise program, are taught how to use the Internet to locate the best health information and are able to draw on the expertise of doctors and other health professionals throughout the community.
We get together once a week and I take them through a workout of stretching, light calisthenics and walking, said Coach Eddie Ray Watson, Wiley College Head Baseball Coach. They are a lot of fun to work with and they really work hard at keeping healthy and fit.
