Longview officials plan to pitch their case Monday for bringing the planned Interstate 69/Trans-Texas Corridor as close to the Longview and Tyler population areas as possible.
Those efforts could eventually conflict with efforts by Marshall, which has been working for some time to bring the interstate through Northeast Texas and Harrison County. However, officials on both sides have said they want to work together.
The Texas Department of Transportation is holding a come-and-go meeting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in the Marshall Civic Center, 2501 S. East End Blvd. The meeting provides people an opportunity to ask questions and provide input into the proposed interstate.
