The Marshall Regional Arts Council has added a twist to its annual membership drive this year.
A raffle drawing for a piece of art has become a drive tradition, but this year artists will compete for the chance to have their work chosen by the winner.
The first Tri-County Visual Arts Extravaganza and Juried Competition is planned for July 26 at the Marshall Visual Art Center. That evening, four to six pieces of art will be selected Certificate of Merit winners by a three-judge panel.
The winner of the raffle drawing, to be held Sept. 27, will choose their prize from among those artworks, and the artist whose work is picked will be awarded $1,500 by the arts council.
