The art work of Rob Harris, son of Dr. and Mrs. Jim Harris of Marshall,
will be featured at the Marshall Visual Arts Center July 23 through August
24th.
A gallery reception is planned for Tuesday, August 2 from 5 to 7pm. The
public is invited.
Rob's works have a signature all their own. His pen and inks
are detailed and drawn from his imagination. He has an uncanny ability for linear
design and infuses details of symbolic meaning or sometimes fanciful humor
into his renderings. One needs to study carefully each of his drawings to
find the many hidden subjects that make up the whole. His work is
fascinating and created with the unforgiving medium of pen and ink.
His oils and acrylics show a variety of skills, subjects, and styles. Many of his
paintings are done with the palette knife which give them dimension and
movement.
Rob is a man of varied and diverse talents. He works as a
landman, composes music, paints, fishes and hunts, records, and produces sound tracks.
His interests and experiences are reflected in his works along with his
sense of humor.
