This week at the Marshall Visual Art Center, art teachers have boldly ushered their charges where no children have gone before: Space.
On Wednesday morning, 56 summer campers ages 5 to 13 made footprints in "moon ash," drew aliens, painted moon rocks and mimicked the orbit of satellites.
The week long camp sessions follow the theme "Mission Exploration: A Journey Through Time." Next week, campers will "join the caravan with Marco Polo on a medieval journey, discovering far away lands and exotic cultures."
The final session is called "The Trail of Discovery: An Adventure With Lewis and Clark."
