When asked about a biography for promotion, Gene Neptune replied, “I was born in the shadow of a water tank, down on that old Katy Line, and the first time that I ever heard that whistle moan, Lord’s mercy, thought it was my Mamma crying”. This line from one of Gene’s songs gives an insight into the songwriter that is Gene Neptune. His songs will take you from the streets of New Orleans, to “The White Bus” on the way to prison in Sugarland. He will take you from “Prairie Dog Town” to the Texas hill country and from the Mexico border to Tenaha, Timpson, Bobo, and Blair with the lyrics from his song from his first album titled, “Somewhere on a Train”. His second album titled, “Prairie Dog Town” includes “Rain on My Window” and my favorite, “Goodbye Charlie Luna”.

Come out Saturday night for evening of great music and entertainment in downtown Marshall.
