Fireworks vendors are warning residents, "don't blow it on July 4th," and start a fire with the holiday explosives.
"Follow directions on the box and don't rig it (fireworks) the way you want it," said Brian Bess, manager of the TNT Fireworks stand on U.S. Highway 59 South. "Make sure the grounds are good and wet since it has been so dry lately."
Harrison County Fire Marshal Dennis Engdahl agrees. He said volunteer firefighters are already starting to respond to fireworks-related fires.
