Lad is a local storyteller and MHS Class of 1961 grad. "Tailwind" includes many tales about his coming of age in East Texas in what he calls "The days of cottonmouths and cotton candy."

The author's work has also appeared in Chicken Soup for the Soul, and is currently featured in the first three volumes of Adams Media's "Rocking Chair Reader." These collections feature writers from around the world who come together in a thematic/inspirational subject format.
