Charter: City commission to review company's franchise agreement
City commission to review company's franchise agreement City commissioners could soon end Charter Communications' Marshall franchise.

Commissioner Bryan Partee said, at Thursday's regular commission meeting, his constituents are unhappy with the company.

Commissioners Ed Carlile, Ed Smith, Jack Hester and Katie Jones said city residents have also complained to them about cable problems.

Commissioners asked City Attorney Todd Fitts to recommend an attorney who specializes in cable companies and cable franchises and bring information about that person to their next meeting on June 23.

The city's franchise agreement gives Charter a monopoly in Marshall in exchange for 5 percent of the company's local gross revenues.
