The McConnells own Roseville Bed and Breakfast on U.S. Highway 80. They moved here from Shreveport, La., about three years ago, and opened for business six months later. The bed and breakfast has since grown into a popular spot for lunches, weddings and weekend getaways.

"It's a lot of work, but you get a lot of rewards," Melvin McConnell said. "People who want hugs when they leave, that's a good reward."
