Chugging into the Depot Museum for a reunion
During the T&P Depot's heyday, about 1,100 people were employed at any time by the railroad and shops, said depot board vice president Hal Evans. Of those thousands who worked from the early 1900s until the demise of Texas & Pacific Railway, only a handful are still alive.

"I went back and got all my old resources from the railroad and established a list of some of the former employees and we have a list of 600-something names of the deceased and alive, but we only have about 147 that are still alive," he said.

Letters have been sent out to each of those surviving T&P Depot employees in hopes they will attend the third annual reunion this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the depot, 800 N. Washington Ave., Suite No. 1. Friends, relatives and anyone who is interested in the history of the depot are also invited to this free event.
