Bird banding ends for the season with full nets

Bird banding at Tom Walker's farm has ended until fall. The last day may have been the best day of birding for the season. A couple of birds were netted that had not been banded for almost ten years. The birds included many very colorful species. Eco-tourism is the fastest growing area for tourism. Birders make up a largest segment of that market. We are fortunate to get such a wide variety of birds through the area. They can become a big draw for tourists to the area.
