TSTC's 28th graduating class takes their diplomas

City Commissioner Bryan Partee told Texas State Technical College-Marshall graduates Tuesday night that they should view their diplomas not as "pieces of paper," but as "empowerment tools. "You have skills that scare 75 percent of the country," Partee said. "People are afraid of the unfamiliar," he added, saying he has customers at his business who are frightened by looking at computers.
"You are a commodity and you have significantly more knowledge than the rest of the country."
