Allin wants to work on increasing more middle-class jobs and more retail businesses, which a number of groups are already working on, but which can always use the help of a working and dedicated city commissioner.

Indeed, we tend to agree with Allin's assessment that Marshall is at a "tipping" point in its revitalization. While we are optimistic that the "tip" will go forward, that is not a certainty. Events could still take place that would send us tipping backward. That would be a terrible thing after so much work has been done.

We also like Allin's idea that representatives from business, education and the arts community should try to attend meetings when new businesses are interested in Marshall. We agree that educational opportunities here will always be important to those who locate in the area and should be highlighted. -5/1
