AUSTIN Marshall News Messenger photographer Saturday was named Star Photojournalist of the Year by the Headliners Club in competition against the top news photographers at all Texas daily newspapers.
Journalists from the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, the Marshall News-Messenger, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The Dallas Morning News won top newspaper awards Saturday from the Headliners Club in the Charles E. Green contest.
Brunner, who has been with the News Messenger about two years, had advanced to the Headliners Club competition after last month being named Star Photographer of the Year for small daily newspapers in Texas Associated Press Managing Editor's competition.
