Horses, owners gather in Marshall

"Fine walk" is a literal translation from Spanish to English for the horse breed Paso Fino, and according to Ed Smith, it is an apt description.
The public is invited to attend a free three-day show this weekend which will feature these smooth-gaited creatures. Located at the Marshall City Arena, the "Lone Star Shootout" show is hosted by the Southwestern Paso Fino Horse Association. It will start around 9 a.m. each morning Friday through Sunday and end sometime in the afternoon around 3 or 4 p.m., Smith said.
