New Works by Diane Jones Opens -- The Show Runs Through April 12
A fondness for flowers and all things wild is apparent in "New Works" by artist Diane Jones, now on display at the Marshall Visual Art Center. The artist will be honored Tuesday, March 22, in an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m.

"My favorite subjects are flowers and trees," said Ms. Jones, "I live surrounded by them and am never happier than when digging in the dirt and watching things grow."

A Marshall native, Ms. Jones studied printmaking, painting and art history at Southern Methodist University. Her works are included in many private collections in the U.S. and Europe. This show, featuring a dazzling array of watercolors, prints, oil paintings and metal sculptures, is Ms. Jones' first hometown exhibit in more than a decade.

"Painting and drawing have been an essential part of my life," said Ms. Jones. "I never cease to be amazed by the beauty in the world and by the different ways we see that world."

The opening reception will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Marshall Visual Art Center at 208 East Burleson. The exhibition will run through April 12. Call 903-938-9860 for more information or visit http://members.tripod.com/dianejones_2/
