Lone Star heritage remembered

Jonathan McCarty said he came to the Texas Independence Day celebration Wednesday dressed as a soldier who fought in the revolution, including a sword, because "I just felt compelled to come up here. I am proud of my heritage." About 42 other people apparently felt the same way. Despite gray skies and a raw wind, they also attended the celebration, held on the north side of the old courthouse in front of a large Texas flag attached to the wall of remembrance.
