County travel information center going wireless

Free wireless Internet service (WiFi) should be arriving within the next two months at the Harrison County-Waskom Travel Information Center on Interstate 20, according to Byron Hicks. Hicks, structural engineer in the facilities management, maintenance division of the Texas Department of Transportation, said Waskom will be one of the first of 12 travel centers to install the wireless Internet program, provided by Road Connect and TxDot. Waskom and Langtry Travel Information Centers will be concurrently installed, he noted. --1/26/05--
