The fact that life often throws us a curve when we least expect it has come to the forefront in recent days in headlines and newscasts. That is not unusual. Those types of events are ongoing. That is the stuff that normally defines news.

Maybe it's the time of year. Or, perhaps it is the knowledge that many of the lives described as coming to an end have been young ones. It could be the juxtaposition of devastation going on all around us during this season we normally relate to for togetherness, for being with family and for spreading thoughts of peace, harmony and understanding.
