Cleanup effort gaining muscle

Marshall city commissioners nominated 12 people for a newly-created seven-member Marshall beautification and cleanup advisory board during a specially called Tuesday meeting. Commissioners will not vote on the nominations until January.
A group of Marshall residents have repeatedly called for city cleanup, a task that includes litter and trash pickup on city streets and vacant lots and leveling abandoned houses.
