The former Hotel Marshall is nearing the end of Phase I construction and could be open for tenants and events by the holiday season.

Members of Marshall's Main Street Advisory Board heard an update on the project at their meeting Tuesday.

Chair Amanda Wynn read an e-mail statement from Judge Richard Anderson, business and legal consultant for the project, regarding its status.

"Phase I of the construction has been substantially completed with the single remaining item being the installation of the fire alarm system," Anderson's e-mail said.
