Long time Caddo Lake resident Betty Holder dies
Betty Holder passed away last night. As Richard Anderson commented, it was perhaps fitting that she died on Independence Day -- and shortly after the grand finale of the fireworks. Betty and Robin were very proud that they had been involved in the fireworks over the years and he had hoped she would be able to see them. Although she had been alert earlier in the day, and was able to communicate, she was asleep when the fireworks began. She died peacefully with Robin and Debbie and a few friends with her. Please let everyone know that the family visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 PM at Downs Funeral Home, 4608 Elysian Fields Rd, Marshall. The funeral will be Sunday, July 8 at 2 PM at Downs. Burial will follow at Andrews Cemetery on Highway 43 near Karnack.
