Like that grease the auxiliary keeps the hospital running, Smith said in proclaiming Tuesday as Marshall Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Volunteer Day in Marshall during the hospital's volunteer auxiliary's 35th anniversary celebration.

"As long as I can remember there have always been pink ladies at hospitals," Smith said to the women wearing pink jackets and bubbly smiles. "You do a tremendous job in our city."
