City, private sector need to work together to make plan a success downtown

It will take two the city of Marshall and the public sector to implement fully the new brand and marketing plan expected to be ready June 22.
Marshall's Main Street committee discussed the implementation of the branding, development and marketing action plan, developed by consulting firm Destination Development, at its meeting Tuesday.
Marshall Main Street will in charge of business development and recruitment, fostering private investment and steering development of public plazas and entertainment venues.
"The city has a big part of the plan," said Assistant City Manager Janet Cook.
