Thanks to ETTOL for your coverage of efforts to contain giant salvinia at Caddo Lake, including the recent construction of the giant salvinia barricade from the north to south shores of the lake.

The barricade is working very well. Crews are removing large amounts of giant salvinia from it daily -- giant salvinia that would now be creating large infestations on the west side of the lake.

Although our giant salvinia net barricade is working as designed and preventing large amounts of the plants from entering the western side of the lake, giant salvinia that has been migrating from Louisiana since January has begun to appear in many areas west of the barricade.
