Staff Reports
Dedication ceremonies for the Texas State Historical Marker at the former department store location of Joe Weisman & Co. have been rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Weisman Center, 211 N. Washington Avenue.
The ceremony was originally scheduled Oct. 16 but was postponed due to the death of Phyllis Binstock Hirsch Falik, said Margaret Agnor, chairman of the Harrison County Historical Commission.
Special guest speaker for the event will be Dr. Raymond L. Hall, a professor at Dartmouth College. Hall grew up in Marshall and will talk about the heritage of the Weisman and Hirsch families and of the retail enterprise.
