Commissioner Ed Carlile, who opposed any bow hunting ordinance, said the government that governs best governs least (a quote from Thomas Jefferson). Brian Partee said "I think we are chasing something that doesn't need to be chased". Katie Jones said that "We accomplished nothing. The laws were already in place." Commissioners Katie Jones, Bryan Partee and Ed Carlile opposed any bow hunting ordinance, BUT commissioners Alonza WILLIAMS, John WILBORN, Jack HESTER and Ed SMITH voted for the ordance.
