Marshall's Tourism Task Force Steering Committee resolved the two issues that were standing in the way of the committee's agreement with Destination Development, Inc.'s proposed action plan, Project Manager Ron Munden said Tuesday.
Concerns about the plan's budget and whether Memorial City Hall can be used both as a performing arts venue and as the Harrison County Historical Museum were put to rest at the committee's regular meeting. The committee unanimously agreed to "just a slight modification of the numbers which would represent about two percent of the budget," Munden said.
The committee agreed to use the same dollar amounts for the current year and use them in the 2008 budget, as opposed to Destination Development's proposed cuts to the hotel occupancy tax (HOT) funds received by Marshall Depot, the Harrison County Historical Museum, the Michelson Museum of Art, Marshall Festivals, Inc. and the Marshall Regional Arts Council to fund Marshall's branding development and marketing plan.
