Opinion: Why restrict their freedom while they are fighting
for someone else's freedom -- submitted by Ron Munden
Yesterday I heard a news story that reported on the Defense Department's restricting the solders in Iraq access to certain Internet sites. I immediately thought "Oh no, they have turned off access to Paris Hilton's XXX site." I was partly wrong -- as it turns out the Defense Department is eliminating the solders access to YouTube and MySpace. The reason given is the standard Bush Administration reason for everything --- SECURITY.
Each Sunday morning I see the list of 19 through 30 year olds that have died for their country. They are mature enough to die -- just not mature enough to responsibly
view, YouTube and MySpace.
