One-woman Play scheduled for Jefferson historical Pilgrimage
What may be the longest-running one-woman play in the South, "Texian Woman", will resume performances for Jefferson's Historical Pilgrimage on May 3-4 at 8 pm in The Living Room Theatre located at 112 Vale St in Jefferson.

The play was written and is acted by Marcia Thomas and is based on the memoirs of early Texas pioneer Harriet Potter Ames, once the wife of Robert Potter, signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence as well as first secretary of the Texas navy in the 1830s. It describes Harriet's traumatic life with Potter and other husbands as she struggles to survive the elements and raise her children along the shores of Caddo Lake. The story has previously been told in a historical novel published in the 1950s.

Tickets for the performances are $15 per person and are available by calling 903-665-2310 or coming by the theatre location which is also the residence of Ms. Thomas. Seating is limited to 25 and tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis.
