Ever since I accepted my highly compensated position with East Texas Online, I have strived to find out exactly what and who the townsfolk of East Texas enjoys hearing about the most. One of those things happen to be the first district representative, Louie Gohmert. Seems that everyone just loves the guy so I set out to find out who he was and a bit more about what he stands for.

Let me begin by saying that not only had I never heard of him but I hadn't the faintest idea how to spell the man's name, so I did what anyone else in my shoes would have done and "googled" him (true story) and typed in "Louie GOMER". Can you imagine my surprise when page after page appeared about "Gomer" Pyle. I should have taken that as a sign. Actually when I read some of the comments made on the house floor by Rep. Gohmert, I thought they were, in reality, quotes from Gomer Pyle. The only difference being that Rep. Gohmert doesn't seem to use the word "shazaam" (perhaps he does at home) Not to mention that half of the things that come out of Mr. Gohmert's mouth sound as if he were speaking another language.
