Could it be the end of TAKS?
Franklin: TAKS needs to be eliminated in a 'positive manner'

The continued existence of the state's mandated TAKS test is in question as legislators consider recent resolutions to abolish the exams, a measure that Sen. Kevin Eltife (R-Tyler, District 1) said he supports.

"I am in favor of ending the TAKS test," Eltife said. "I believe too much of our teachers' time is spent teaching the test."
