Park fanatics were in attendance Thursday as Master Gardeners and Friends of the Marshall Parks met with the public to discuss the planting of City Park.
The groups hopes the citizens will spread the word about the May 5 planting event throughout the community.
Oak, cedar, flowering pear, pecan trees, redbuds, daylilies, crape myrtle, spirea, azaleas and lantana are just a sampling of the many plants that will beautify Marshall's oldest park.
Park plans were laid out with 16 areas highlighted for groups to choose to plant and maintain. Some areas will have 1,500 plants going in, but they will be maintenance free while other areas will need more maintenance.
