Richardson wins Star Investigative Report at APME

Features editor Robin Y. Richardson took first place in the Star Investigative Report of the Year division in the Associated Press Managing Editor's contest for her stories on the use of Convention and Visitor Development Department funds. The contest period was for articles written in 2006. The Marshall News Messenger series of stories looked at questionable expenditures and sloppy record-keeping pertaining to the CVD funds, paid for by the city of Marshall and managed by the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce, as well as a look at the chamber's Web site.
