I think the number is about 12,000 at this point, give or take few hundred. It doesn't matter, because by this time tomorrow, it could be as much as 4,000 or 5,000 higher.

What's the number? That's the count of emails I have received from around the country asking - in many cases, demanding - that I stop printing Ann Coulter's column in this newspaper.

It would be far more interesting if I could say that all of these people were writing me personal notes of outrage, but the fact is they have been prompted by a liberal media "watchdog," Media Matters (you can find them on the Web at www.mediamatters.org). So roughly 90 percent of the emails not only have the same heading " Civility, Yes! Ann Coulter, NO! " they have, word for word the same message.
