Citizens concerned about the Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge have formed a friends organization to that working toward making the refuge "a place for education and recreation for the whole family," secretary-treasurer Mary Jane Sanders said.
The Caddo National Wildlife Refuge Board of Friends has had two meetings, the first was an organizational effort and the second was election of officers.
"We are still in the process of developing projects, exploring possibilities," said Ms. Sanders in a statement. "...(The refuge) will also be a place for research in various fields of natural resources, flora and fauna in the area."
