When community leaders die, a big piece appears in their local newspapers, usually praising the deceased. The visitation and funeral are crowded.
Then life goes on.
That's too bad, because these people have often done great good for all of us and should not be forgotten.
Rather than erect statues to generals or politicians, communities should erect statues to their benefactors.
Quinton Carlile (and wife Mildred) are such benefactors.
I propose a community fund drive which would finance a statue honoring the Carliles.
