Arts patron Wendy Reves dies

She donated 1,400 items to DMA 07:57 AM CDT on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 By MICHAEL GRANBERRY / The Dallas Morning News Wendy Reves, whose philanthropy helped sustain the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, UT Southwestern and the Dallas Museum of Art, to which she donated more than 1,400 works of art in 1984, died Tuesday in a hospital near her villa in France. She was 90. "Along the way, everyone who encountered her got to admire and befriend her as well as be grateful for her gifts," said Dr. Kern Wildenthal, president of UT Southwestern, who will soon be named president of her foundation, at her request.
