Words & Voices
Saturday evening marked a return to the original Words & Voices Concert series. Starting its fifth year the 2nd Saturday live music event promoting singer/songwriters began as The Weisman Center Presents Words & Voices. With the support of The Marshall News Messenger and Marshall Main Street Organization the songwriter format opened its 2007 series at 101 W. Austin and is scheduled for the same venue in April. NSAI area coordinator Kathy Davidson worked through that professional songwriter group to schedule Artist, Chris Wallin who has written for singers such as Neil McCoy and Montgomery Gentry. Wallin entertained the crowd with familiar songs but also stories and lyrics that are still in the initial development of songs that may be #1 hits as well. Blind Dog Cook from Karnack, Texas was the opening act for Wallin.

Co-founder of the series, Cowboy Songwriter and Entertainer Grady Lee will be the featured artist for the April Words and Voices Concert. Grady has been a promoter of live music in Marshall's downtown and has volunteered to play for numerous events. Few have actually experienced Lee's "show". Sure to please the oldest to the youngest of fans Grady Lee is scheduled for 7pm, April, 14th at 101 W. Austin. Advance sale tickets will be available at the Marshall News Messenger or by calling 903-926-0836. Last weekends event was a standing room only crowd so all are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
