Tourism Task Force Status
On Thursday afternoon I sent the email printed below to the members of the Tourism Task Force Steering Committee -- that included Assistant City Manager Janet Cook. Since she did not see fit to provide this information to the City Commission when the subject was mentioned -- I will use ETTO to inform the City Commissioners. Since I know several of them read ETTO regularly, I request they please read the email listed below.
-----------------------------------
Last night's action by the City Commission demonstrates that there is no sence of urgeny in getting on with implementing a tourism organization. In that spirit I will submit my letter of resignation when time permits. Since last nights action by the Commission stops everything for several months, a delay in my submitting my letter of resignation by a month or so will have no impact on the project.

Subject: Tourism Task Force Meetings

FROM: Project Manager
TO: Task Force Steering Committee

At our meeting and subsequently reported in the MNM my resignation has been discussed. The City Commission will discuss at the 3/8 meeting the need for a special meeting between that body and the Task Force Steering Committee.

Several people have discussed with me the timing of my resignation. Based on these discussions I have agreed that it would be best to delay the resignation letter until after the Steering Committees meeting with the City Commission. The City Manager has told me that he will recommend that our meeting with the City Commission be scheduled for March 22.

Therefore I will remain in the Project Management position until after that meeting. I don't see the need at this time to have another Steering Committee meeting so those I previously scheduled for 3/13 & 3/20 are cancelled. Until that time all business will continue to be handled as it has been. If any of you have questions or the need to contact me please feel free to do so.
