Several days last week I subbed at Marshall High School, meaning I worked as a substitute teacher.
Here's what happened in two classrooms; students' names, ages, appearance and class subjects have been changed, or omitted, to protect the guilty.
I asked a boy to sit down. He turned on me, cursing and shouting. I asked the boy for his name, intending to write a referral slip and send him to the office. He refused to give me his name. I had to ask the office to send an assistant principal.
An administrator promptly appeared and took the kid to the office.
A few days later, I told students to stop copying each other's work sheets and look up the answer themselves.
