Sometimes the best ideas are borrowed ideas. Just ask Randy Wooten, the president of Texas State Technical College in Marshall.

Wooten recently learned of a sister campus in West Texas that had gone to area industries and drummed up enough financial support to hire a recruiter whose job it is to find potential students with the intelligence, work ethic and initiative to make good employees and get them enrolled in an associate degree program geared to technology.

Wooten was so impressed with the idea that he is looking for local support to create a similar position on his campus.
