They wore black T-shirts declaring "No New Coal Plants," carried signs urging people to "Vote No On Coal" and chanted, "Stop the coal rush."

Several hundred people from across Texas gathered at the Capitol on Sunday to protest the proposed construction of at least 15 coal-fired power plants, saying they will endanger air quality and increase concerns about global warming.
