Turn your radio dial to 89.9 in Shreveport and you'll hear KDAQ, just one of the many stations that make up the Red River Radio network. According to its Web site, the network's mission is to extend to the citizens of the broadcast area the broad purposes of the university by offering quality programming which is entertaining, informative, and edifying. Sounds like a big job, and it is. It's a job that wouldn't get done without people like Steve Howell.
Howell has had a long association with LSUS. It began in 1972 as a student. He took a few classes, but while attending school, he decided to join the U.S. Navy, and served a four-year tour of duty. Then, it was back to LSUS, where in 1980, he received a degree in communications / journalism.
